Hypnotherapy Online, Worldwide

Hypnotherapy works best in person, but if issues such as travel restrictions or disability mean you can’t attend a session in person, then the internet provides an alternative.

Can you do online hypnotherapy from your home?
You can do hypnotherapy from home or elsewhere, as long as certain conditions are met. The most important thing is that you are in a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. A small amount of background noise is ok, but you should minimise the chances of sudden loud noises or people entering the room unexpectedly during a session. It should also be a place that you feel that you can talk freely and comfortably, and a place where you have a reasonably comfortable chair where you can sit during hypnotherapy.

Please note, consultations are by appointment only (see end of this page).

What equipment do you need for online hypnotherapy?

You will need to have good equipment: a computer that won’t crash, a good internet connection, headphones that allow you to hear clearly, a good quality microphone. The camera should be good quality and set up so that your face and upper half of your body can be seen. The lighting in the room needs to be reasonably good. You will also need to have downloaded VSee, a platform which is preferable for the purposes of therapy to other platforms such as Zoom and Skype. You can download VSee for free from here. Be sure to have downloaded and tested VSee in plenty of time before your session begins.

Please note, consultations are by appointment only (see below).

Advantages and disadvantages of online hypnotherapy

When you want to change something about your life, it is sometimes a good start to get out of your familiar surroundings. Visiting me at my clinic – which is very comfortable and in a pleasant location -is the ideal place to start making changes.

There may be reasons why online therapy might suit you better (such as travel restrictions or disability) but there are two potential disadvantages you should be aware of.  Firstly, although hypnotherapy works well online, it works better in person. Secondly, information technology (IT) can fail unexpectedly for all sorts of reasons, and online hypnotherapy is not exempt from this fact. If any such problems occur, this is at the clients own risk. In other words I can’t guarantee that the IT will work perfectly, and if it doesn’t, I won’t be held responsible for that, unless it is clearly a fault at my end (e.g. if my computer crashes for some reason).  Taken into account these differences, the fee for online therapy is lower than for in-person therapy.

Making an appointment and making a payment

Please note, hypnotherapy sessions are by appointment only, and payments need to be made via online banking at least three days before the day of the appointment. Note that the fee is slightly lower for online hypnotherapy. It is usual to have a short consultation before the first session. This can be done by phone (up to 20 minutes) or email, and there is no charge for this.
